Finance minister Wouter Bos is to increase the fines imposed on credit companies who use misleading advertisements to €500,000, the Volkskrant reports. The current fine is €30,000.

Despite economic growth, the number of people in debt is growing, Bos told MPs on Wednesday. He added that he does not rule out a complete ban on loan ads.
