Free textbook plan delayed a year
Government promises to introduce free text books for all secondary school pupils are to be delayed until the 2008/09 school year, education minister Ronald Plasterk told MPs on Thursday evening.
The minister said it was not technically possible to bring in free books for the next academic year. The measure will save parents an average €300 per child.
