Five wounded as ducks cross the road
A family of ducks crossing the A15 by Sliedrecht on Sunday led to a five car collision and four people being taken to hospital, news agency ANP reported. The driver who spotted the duck family slammed on the brakes and was hit by a number of other vehicles.
The road was closed for two hours while the crash was cleared up. One duckling died in the accident.
Later in the day, a car ploughed into a family of ducks on the A2 at Vinkeveen. All the ducks were killed. The incident created a three kilometre traffic jam, motoring organisation ANWB told ANP.
