Around 850,000 people took part in the annual Museum Weekend this year, considerably less than the one million visitors in 2006 because of the tropical weekend weather, says the Museum Association.

Some 500 museums around the country joined this year’s event whose theme was ‘the art of observing’. It was the 26th time the Museum Weekend has been organised.
