The number of fatalities caused by drunk drivers went down by 4% more than other forms of fatal accidents on the Dutch roads between 1996 and 2005, reports the European association for road safety.

Only four other EU countries have a better track record, the association said. Some 115 people died in the Netherlands as a result of drink driving accidents in 2005.
