Three dead in domestic incident

A mother and two children have been found dead in a house in Hengelo, Gelderland police spokesman Anton de Ronde confirmed on Tuesday evening. A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, ANP reported.

The house is in a normal residential area outside the centre of the town, ANP said. Local radio station Omroep Gelderland said the children were in group 5 and 8 of primary school. The school headteacher told the station it was a very normal family.
A neighbour told ANP the father worked in a furniture factory and the mother was a nurse. The children were boys aged 9 and 11. She said no-one had been seen for a couple of days and the children had not been at school.
ANP reports that there were four incidents of parents killing their children and then attempting to kill themselves last year, and seven in 2005.
