PSV fell London’s mighty Arsenal

PSV secured a place in the quarter-finals of the football Champions League yesterday evening, after drawing 1-1 away to Arsenal. The Eindhoven team had won the home leg 1-0 a week earlier.

PSV, depleted by injury, survived a first-half attacking blitz from the star-studded London team, only to concede a soft own goal early on in the second-half.
However, the culprit, Brazilian defender Alex remerged as the hero to head in an equaliser in the final minutes of the game. Nicknamed ‘the tank’ because of his physical presence and robust playing style, Alex seemed to be jet-propelled as he soared above the Arsenal defence to score.
The draw for the quarter-finals will be made on Friday.
