Office supplies group Buhrmann has lost the top executive of its US operations, Mark Hoffman. The company made the announcement on Friday saying the departure was a joint decision.

Investors had been shocked when the extent of the Burhmann’s US difficulties were revealed at the presentation of its 2006 earnings in early February. US sales were down 5.7% in the fourth quarter, and Buhrmann’s shares fell some 10%.
