Publishers to sell off education units

Anglo-Dutch publishing group Reed Elsevier has put its Harcourt Education school book publishers up for sale to concentrate on legal and medical activities.


Dutch publisher Wolters Kluwer has also put its educational publishers on the market. Reed Elsevier said on Thursday it had booked a 3% rise in pre-tax profit to €1.08bn. Sales were up 4% to €8.07bn.
