More die of flu but fewer catch it

Almost 75% of the population believe that fewer than 500 people die from flu every year while the real figure is between 1,000 and 2,000, according to a survey by Maastricht University for pharmaceutical firm Roche.


Although 27% of those polled said they had had flu in the last year, the real figure was just 10%.
