Energy firm Nuon profit rises 14%

Holland’s second largest energy concern Nuon today announced net profit (excluding incidental items) up 19% to €495m in 2006. Turnover was up 14% to €5.39 bn. The company wants to pay its local government shareholders €325m in dividends, slightly higher than in 2005.


The company said that its share in the consumer market remained virtually stable in 2006 and that its position in the business market improved in both terms of market share and volume.
