Domestic violence tackled in Rotterdam

The number of violent crimes that came to court in Rotterdam rose by 900 to 8,736 in 2006, according to the city’s prosecution department. This is the third consecutive year that violent crimes have exceeded forecasts.


The biggest increase was in domestic violence and is the result of tougher police action against this sort of crime, said the prosecution service.
