Ajax thrashes Feyenoord 4-1 on Sunday

Ajax stormed to a 4-1 victory over arch rivals Feyenoord at Amsterdam’s Arena on Sunday afternoon. After initial jitters in the first 10 minutes, the Amsterdam club crushed the Rotterdam formation with three goals in the first half. Captain Wesley Sneijder notched up two and winger Tom de Mul cracked in the third.

Feyenoord grabbed a goal back with Angelos Charisteas scoring just before halftime. But they never looked like they would get back into the game. Sneijder rounded off a strong performance stroking in Ajax’s fourth late in the second half.
The victory puts Ajax just five points behind the premier league’s leader PSV of Eindhoven, who lost to AZ of Alkmaar at the weekend.
