Urban crime rate falls faster than rural

The crime rate in major cities across the Netherlands has fallen 17% after peaking in 2002, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday. In smaller towns and villages, the crime rate has fallen by 6%. Notably, there has been a decrease in theft and burglary.
