Text messages reach New Year record
The Dutch sent a record number of mobile phone text messages between 10pm on December 31 and 4am on January 1, telecom operators report. Vodafone subscribers sent 17.5 million Happy New Year messages, seven million more than last year, KPN users sent 10 million messages (up 30%) and Telfort almost 1.5 million messages.
