Sharp-eyed cleaner foils casino robbery

A sharp-eyed cleaner at the Holland Casino in Rotterdam appears to have foiled an armed robbery after she spotted mysterious chalky dust on the floor of a cubicle in one of the ladies’ toilets. She alerted security guards, who found a gun, balaclava, crowbar and a jacket hidden in the ceiling.

The find took place on December 3. The casino director told the Telegraaf the company was enormously grateful to the cleaner.
‘Perhaps the thieves were planning to hide in the casino and break in to the safe when we were closed, but we have not ruled out an armed robbery on guests and staff,’ he said.
