Former MP jailed for benefit fraud
Former VVD (Liberal) MP Patricia Remak has been jailed for nine months for unemployment benefit fraud totalling €100,000. Remak, who was an MP for four years, failed to declare her income as a member of the Noord Holland provincial council and her salary for working at the finance ministry when claiming wachtgeld, the special unemployment benefit for former MPs
