Fugro, USG People, Fortis, Crucell and Hagemeyer are the stocks to watch this year, according to five analysts polled by the Financieele Dagblad. But the analysts warn against too-high expectations. Returns will not be more than 10%, they say.

The AEX index closed at 495 points before the New Year celebrations, an increase of 13% over the year. But the five stocks tipped by the analysts at the end of 2005 did better – producing an average return of 23%.
Aping similar experiments in the US (where a gorilla picks stocks on the basis of bananas or by throwing darts at a dartboard) the FD and tv programme Nova used dolphins at the Harderwijk dolphinarium to pick their own five stocks to watch in 2007. The dolphins chose VastNed Retail, TomTom, Wessanen, Corus and ABN Amro.
