Wilders says VVD leader is ‘weak’

Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration PVV party which has nine seats in the new parliament, launched a stinging attack on the Liberal VVD party during today’s debate on the asylum seekers compromise.

According to the website of public broadcaster Nos, Wilders accused the VVD of agreeing to a ‘incredibly bad decision’ and accused party leader Mark Rutte of being ‘weak kneed’. In reply, Rutte told Wilders his party had acted in the best interests of the country, by preventing a cabinet collapse.
