Goose liver paté (foie gras) is the most ideologically unsound Christmas food followed by pork (from castrated pigs) and veal from anemic calves, according to research by animal rights lobby group Wakker Dier. Men living in the south of the Netherlands are most likely to eat foie gras. Some 5% of the 500 people polled were vegetarian.
