Schoolboy murder suspect in court

The 22-year-old man charged with the seemingly random murder of schoolboy Jesse Dingemans on Friday was due to appear in court this afternoon. The man was arrested shortly after the eight-year-old’s body was found in his classroom by teachers on Friday morning. The man, Julien C, denies murder.

Police have issued few details about the man’s identity. However, it emerged today that C was involved in a supermarket robbery when he was 19. He reportedly threatened cash desk workers with a fake gun and made off with several thousand euros.
Psychiatrists describe him then as being weak impulsive, NOS tv reported.
The Volkskrant says the suspect lives officially in The Hague but sometimes stayed with people he called his ‘foster parents’ in the village of Hoogerheide. The paper says his foster brother was in the same class as Jesse. Other reports say his real mother and step father live in Hoogerheide.
The Klim-Op primary school was due to open for lessons again this afternoon.
