Amsterdam police is to appeal for volunteers – such as pensioners and people who have taken early-retirement – to take over paperwork from beat officers. The city wants to set up special teams of police officers to focus on combating crime and handing out fines rather than doing desk-bound jobs, the Telegraaf reports today.
