Marijnissen wins Politician of the Year
The ever popular Socialist leader Jan Marijnissen has been chosen Politician of the Year by the parliamentary press for his ‘amazing charisma’ and ‘clear language’. The jury was impressed by the way he has transformed a local action group into a national party with 25 MPs.
Christian Democrat prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende and ChristenUnie leader André Rouvoet (who won the competition two years ago) came in second and third position respectively.
