‘Housing shortage claims exagerated’
Claims that there is a severe shortage of housing in the Netherlands are exaggerated, says Peter Boerenfijn, director of Aedes which represents the country’s 500 housing corporations.
According to research by Aedes, some 52% of people on social housing waiting lists are not genuinely interested in moving and only one in five, mainly young people, are really serious about finding a home.
