Gazprom wants 50% Shell’s Sakhalin investment
Russian gas company Gazprom is demanding 50% of Shell’s investment in the massive Sakhalin II oil and gas project, various media report today.
At the same time, the Russian authorities are threatening Shell with a $30bn lawsuit over environmental law infringements. Shell has a 55% stake in the Sakhalin project, the rest is in the hands of other private investors.
