The weather is some 5 degrees too warm for the time of year, says national weather bureau KNMI. Over the next few days, the temperature is expected to reach around 15 degrees and will continue to be warmer than normal for the rest of the month.

So far 2006 has been a year of extremes. July was abnormally hot, August very wet and September the warmest September in 300 years. October was the warmest October in 100 years.
