Some 50% of Holland’s smaller industrial supply firms say they are being hit by the trend towards moving production abroad, says research institute EIM.

In total, 13% say they have had to cut jobs. A large part of the Dutch light and electronic engineering sector consists of semi-manufacturing. Firms making components with little added value are being particularly hit by competition from Eastern Europe and Asia.
