New MPs mainly white and male
Two-thirds of the 150 newly-elected Dutch MPs are civil servants, local politicians or worked in the public sector and only 25% have worked for a private company, according to calculations by the Volkskrant.
Two out of three MPs are male and only 8% have an ethnic minority background. The final list of MPs was officially published yesterday. Only one new MP managed to get a seat in parliament as a result of receiving so many preference votes: Fatma Koser Kaya for the social democratic party D66.
