First listing on Alternext disappointing

Jobs agency The Member Company (TMC) today became the first company to get a listing on Amsterdam’s new Alternext index which focuses on small firms.

However, despite earlier talk of raising €10m, TMC issued some 500,000 shares at €12.75 a share, generating €6.4m. ‘It is disappointing because Dutch investors are not so aware of an alternative exchange like Alternext,’ said a spokeswoman. ‘That is partly why we floated a limited number of shares.’ TMC’s current shareholders still hold 85% of the company.
