Public urged to ‘have a go’

People should be encouraged to take action if they witness violent incidents, rather than simply phoning the police, says safety expert Pieter van Vollenhoven.

Government advice to stay clear of trouble was not the best way to tackle the problem, Van Vollenhoven told the ‘Is heroism in our blood’ congress in The Hague.
