Princess Maxima, wife of crown prince Willem-Alexander, is pregnant with her third child, the state information service RVD announced this morning. The baby is due mid-April and will be fourth in line to the throne.

Maxima and Willem-Alexander already have two daughters, Amalia and Alexia. Docters have advised the princess, who is 35, to slow down over the next few weeks. However, the RVD said this would have no consquences for her scheduled public appearances, including a planned trip to Australia and New Zealand later this year.
