Health insurance no-claim set to go
The Christian Democrats (CDA) have added their voice to demands that the controversial no-claims bonus on health insurance be scrapped because it costs too much and unfairly hits people with chronic health problems.
Only the Liberals (VVD) are still in favour of the scheme which entitles people who don’t make claims to a €255 rebate. The no-claim idea was introduced by the current government to stimulate people into thinking twice before using the health service. VVD health minister Hans Hoogervoorst said he was surprised by the CDA U-turn.
