At least five companies from outside the Netherlands are considering listing on the Amsterdam stock exchange, the Financieele Dagblad said on Thursday, quoting banking sources.

Last week, Polish company InPost, which makes lockers where online shoppers can pick up their packages, said it is looking at a Dutch IPO, while Spanish fintech Allfunds is also known to be interested, the paper said.

‘And I know of three other foreign companies considering Amsterdam,’ said Pim Kist, who is in charge of lead managing IPOs for ING. ‘They are all companies which could have gone for London’.

In particular, tech companies are interested in Amsterdam, the FD said. While London may have the most tech listings, Amsterdam has Adyen, Prosus and Just Eat Takeaway and these, the FD said, are all big names which show Amsterdam can reach global investors.

A number of Dutch firms are also known to be considering an IPO this year, including WeTransfer. Last year, Amsterdam hosted just two new listings, that of coffee company JDE Peet’s and shell firm Dutch Star Companies Two, the FD said.
