Dutch second hand clothes website United Wardrobe is being taken over by Lithuanian peer Vinted, the Financieele Dagblad said on Tuesday.

The takeover will push Vinted into first position in the Dutch online second hand clothes market, the paper said. Financial details were not disclosed.

United Wardrobe chief Sjull Berden told the FD that the two companies had worked alongside each other for years and that the move to join forces is ‘logical’. The Dutch name will disappear but the 35 United Wardrobe staff will move over to Vinted.

Vinted, which was valued at €1bn and is heavily advertising on Dutch television at the moment, is currently active in 12 countries.
