The official coronavirus death total in the Netherlands has risen by 11 to 6,042 in the latest daily update from public health institute RIVM.

A further 184 people have tested positive for the virus, taking that total to over 48,000. Five more people have been admitted to hospital.

Local health boards have tested 68,759 people for Covid-19 since June 1 and testing was opened up to everyone with even mild symptoms.

It is unclear what percentage of people tested through local health boards have coronavirus, but the initial results published last week indicated at 2% were positive.

The results of the testing are included in the figures published by the RIVM.
