The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow weather warning for most of the country on Thursday morning because of thick mist in many places.

Drivers are being urged to slow down and keep their distance from other cars, to head off the risk of collisions.

The mist is particularly bad in central and southern parts of the country, with visibility down to 200 metres in some places, the KNMI said.

The mist continues to have an impact on Eindhoven airport and no flights will leave before 10am or land before 11am, the airport said. Flights were also delayed because of fog on Wednesday.
