Dutch lawyer shot in Germany is recovering well, has spoken to police

Philippe Schol, the Dutch lawyer shot near his home in Gronau, Germany, on Wednesday, is recovering well in hospital, Dutch media have reported.

Schol, who runs a law firm in Enschede, was shot at while out walking his dog. He is now able to talk to the police but no information about his injuries has been released.

Police in the Netherlands and Germany are still looking for the white car with Dutch number plates which was used in the shooting.

No clear motive has yet emerged but according to some reports, Schol may have been targeted in connection with the bankruptcy of a gym. He specialises in bankruptcy law.
