Dutch women beat Cameroon 3-1, Vivianne Miedema enters record books

The Dutch women’s football team have qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup with a 3-1 win over Cameroon in Group E on Saturday.

Both the Netherlands and Canada will move on past the group stage, with Cameroon and New Zealand set to battle it out for third place. Oranje and Canada meet on June 20 to decide who will go into the knockout phase as the winner of Group E.

A brace of goals from Vivianne Miedema, who is just 22, gave her a place in Dutch footballing history as she became her nation’s all-time leading markswoman with 60 goals for Oranje.
