Woman arrested in connection with dead babies probe

police carA 31-year-old woman from Alkmaar has been arrested in connection with the death of two babies found in the Noord-Holland town of Heerhugowaard, police said on Wednesday.

The woman’s dna is said to match that of the two babies, one of which was found in a private home and one in a garden shed last month.

The relationship between the people who lived in the house and the suspect is unclear but they are not family, ANP says. However, the 34-year-old woman who lives at the house is still under investigation.

‘The investigation into her is continuing and we have no further comment to make,’ police said in a statement.
