The Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (literally the foundation for the collective propaganda of the Dutch book) is the rather dictatorial sounding name of the lobby group representing publishers, book-sellers and libraries. It dates back to 1930 when the first Day of the Book was held. The annual Book Week has been held since 1932 – part of the CPNB’s efforts to boost reading and book buying. websiteAll typical untranslatable Dutch words and expressions translated in the Dictionairy of Dutchness
