Schiphol decides not to alter its fees

Schiphol airport authority has decided not to change its airport fee structure for ordinary and transfer passengers.

Schiphol had planned to increase fees for transit passengers and to do more to attract budget airlines like EasyJet.
But national flag carrier KLM argued the transit charge hike would hurt its operations.
Airline sector group IATA also wrote to Schiphol to protest at the plans.
Schiphol said the ‘recovery in traffic and transport’ had made it possible to maintain the current level of charges.
Charges will go up 4% next year to help cover the cost of improving its infrastructure and a new baggage handling system.
