Animal feed producer Nutreco is preparing a new bid for sector peer Provimi, the Financieele Dagblad quotes inside sources as saying.

The bid for Provimi, currently owned by the British private equity firm Permira, must be at least €1.4bn, say market experts.
It is the third time Nutreco has attempted a takeover of Rotterdam-based Provimi. In 2002 and 2007 private equity firms made higher bids.
Insiders say the two companies are well-matched geographically and in their portfolios and Nutreco is determined to buy Provimi this time. ‘It’s now or never,’ a source told the Financieele Dagblad.
