Mayors discuss firework ban
The association of mayors is to discuss a firework ban for private individuals and how to accomplish this at its next meeting, the Telegraaf reports.
The move follows remarks by Wilma Verver, mayor of Schiedam, who is fed-up with the damage caused every year.
This year’s damage to council property in the town was put at €85,000 and Verver said the money would be better spent on the development of Schiedam.
A spokesman for the NGB said any firework ban would most likely be a matter for the local authorities association.
