World’s top dressage horse put down
The world’s most successful dressage horse, Gigolo, has died at the age of 26, news agency ANP said on Monday.
Equestrian Isabell Worth and Gigolo won gold medals in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics. The duo also took four world and eight European titles.
Gigolo was retired from competition in 2000. His health has since deteriorated so much, vets had no choice but to put him to sleep, Worth said on her website.
