Payout for victims of wrong diagnosis
Some 20 victims who were wrongly diagnosed with incurable sicknesses by a former neurologist at a hospital in Enschede have been awarded €500,000 in damages, the hospital’s chairman Herre Kingma told tv programme Nova on Thursday evening.
Another 70 claims could follow, according to one damage claims expert quoted by the Telegraaf.
The neurologist, who was asked to leave the MST hospital in 2004 but was paid his salary for one year, was allegedly addicted to medicines. He went on to work for a private clinic in Germany.
