Almost half (45%) of the population believe government policy is making society worse, up from 28% in 2007, according to a poll published on Monday evening for the tv news programme Netwerk.

Nevertheless, those questioned said they are happier about security which scored 54 points out of 100 in August this year compared to 50 in 2007.
People are also more satisfied with integration issues, giving it a 42 mark, up from 39 a year ago.
