Minister rejects EU farm cash aid plan

Suggestions by the EU farming commissioner that unspent EU funds be used to fund farm projects in developing countries are ‘a nice idea, but not well executed’, Dutch agriculture minister Gerda Verburg said on Monday.

Instead, the EU should make structural investments in farming projects in third-world countries, Verburg was reported as saying by news agency ANP
