Ajax coach Henk ten Cate has signed a contract to join London club Chelsea as assistant trainer, NOS tv news reports on Friday, quoting Ten Cate’s business manager.

NOS says Ten Cate will be the number two to Avram Grant, who has replaced José Mourinho. Exact terms of the deal still have to be worked out. Ten Cate’s contract with the Amsterdam club Ajax expires next year.
Yesterday Chelsea denied that Dutchman Guus Hiddink, who is Russia’s coach, has also been approached. ‘Information that [club owner] Abramovich is preparing to, or already has, offered Guus Hiddink a management post at Chelsea are untrue,’ the club said in a statement.
