AFM demands role in takeovers

The financial sector watchdog AFM should have a role in corporate takeovers once the share price of a takeover target rises by more than 10%, AFM board member Paul Koster said at a congress on Tuesday.


The AFM should be able to control the takeover process by, for example, setting strict time limits as is the case in Britain, Koster told Wednesday’s Financieele Dagblad.
