The cabinet has no plans to introduce an extra taxes on top people’s pay, finance minister Wouter Bos has told MPs. Bos said such a measure would damage the Netherlands’ competitive position.

In addition, introducing a new top tax rate would also hit people who did not earn huge salaries, Bos said.
The cabinet does want to encourage employers and workers to discuss limiting salaries and give works councils the right to make their own recommendations.
